Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German film and television actress famous for her performance in movies such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. As the only children from Romanian actor Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra entered the world of show business early, and ended up acting in lead roles on various television dramas by the time she reached the age of 16. Following her highly acclaimed performance in the TV movie Der Tunnel, Alexandra went into other notable characters like Adolf Hitler's secretary, Traudljunge, as well as the secretary of Adolf Hitler in Downfall. This film was nominated for an Oscar and was a critical as well as commercial great success. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are also Oscar nominated films that feature models. Through the years, Alexandra has worked in several important international and national productions. Some of these include the British biographical movie Control, the Greek drama film The Dust of Time, and the French historic miniseries Napoleon. In addition, she was a member of the jury of the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
