Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress, who has worked on TV and in films is most well-known for her roles in films such as Rush as well as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. As the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu. Alexandra began her professional career in showbiz from a young age. Her roles included lead characters in dramas on television as young when she was just 16. Her acclaimed and critically acclaimed performance in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for more notable roles like the role of the secretary to Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge in the commercially and critically successful Oscar nominated historical war drama film Downfall. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are two other Oscar nominated movies featuring women. Through the years, Alexandra has worked in several notable international and national projects. They include the British biographical Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and the French historic mini-series Napoleon among others. She also remained member of the jury of the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
